Inspired by the passion of the client and her team, the concept of this chocolate shop places the product at the heart of the spatial experience. The square, a symbol of the box containing the artisanal ganaches made on site, becomes a central element of the interior design. It expresses modularity and flexibility, extending from the cabinetry details to the storage facades that discreetly reproduce the same visual language.
The design of the commercial space is distinguished by its approach, both meticulous and inventive, borrowed from the artisanal chocolate-making process. A modular square grid structures the layout in a flexible and functional way, integrating harmoniously with the overall environment. Made of lacquered metal, this grid is inserted into a custom-made mold that allows quick hanging of product shelves, crafting tools, and decorative elements, while maintaining a sleek aesthetic.
The modularity of the square grid allows the team to easily adjust the store's offerings according to the seasons and commercial highlights. With just a few gestures, the team can easily reconfigure the space to highlight a new range or adapt to a theme. Avoiding heavy work or complex reconfigurations, this flexibility ensures above all constant visibility of new products.
To maximize the fluidity of the space, circulation has been given special attention. Despite the limited area, the customer journey follows a smooth path. The reception counter physically delineates the customer area from the work area while directly showcasing the chocolate shop's flagship products.
The chosen approach also stages the making process without revealing all the gestures: generous glazing separates the streamlined kitchen from the colorful store, inviting the gaze without encroaching on operational organization. This transparent partitioning device highlights the craftsmanship while preserving the hygiene and discretion necessary behind the scenes.
The play of contrasting colors - between the understated exterior of the brushed metal counter and neutral boxes, and the bright touches inside - evokes the attention given to the chocolate's coating, reinforcing the sensory dimension of the place. The square pattern and red accents create a discreet visual coherence, thus affirming a more playful and warm identity while a suspended tubular structure integrates lighting and signage.
Developed in collaboration with maubau, this project embodies an integrated approach to commercial interior design. Every element, from material choices to functional organization, contributes to enhancing the brand image and offering an immersive customer experience, adaptable to operational challenges and seasonal variations, while remaining true to the client’s creative spirit.
