1960
Ginette Gadoury studies interior design at the Institut des arts appliqués and entrepreneurship at HEC Montréal. In 1967, she opens a design consulting firm, and in 1970 she partners with the architecture firm Histart.
Our Story
1972
Ginette Gadoury founds Décormag, the first Québec magazine dedicated to interior design, marking the beginning of the magazine industry in Québec.
1986
Picard Report on the development priorities of the City of Montréal: Ginette Gadoury advises on design. Design is named one of the city’s six development priorities.
1988
Founding of La Médiathèque du Design and Agence PID (Les Productions Interface Design).
1989
Brigitte Gadoury joins the company. Launch of SIDIM, the Montréal International Interior Design Show.
1996
Launch of INTÉRIEURS, a prestigious magazine of international content and calibre that plays a key role in promoting design, designers and the companies that build Québec’s reputation in Canada and abroad.
2006
Montréal is named a UNESCO City of Design. In his speech and press release, Mayor Gérald Tremblay highlights the role of SIDIM and Ginette Gadoury in securing this designation.
INTÉRIEURS magazine becomes bilingual and is sold in specialized newsstands alongside international magazines across Québec, in Toronto and in New York, with international subscriptions.
2007
Launch of the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards, a design and architecture competition founded in Montréal.
2013
25th anniversary of SIDIM, which by then is the only design and home show in Canada to have remained Canadian-owned.
2014
Beginning of the collaboration between APDC (Asia Pacific Design Center) and Agence PID. GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN winners are presented and honoured in China.
2015
For the first time, the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards open categories to international entries, in collaboration with APDC, and designers and architects from China submit projects.
2016
20th anniversary of INTÉRIEURS magazine.
2017
10th anniversary of the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards.
2018
30th anniversary of SIDIM.
2020
The GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards add new disciplines and become an international competition: all categories are now open to entrants from Québec, Canada and around the world.
2021
Launch of the INT.DESIGN portal.
The GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards begin unveiling their Grand Winners, People’s Choice Awards and Awards of the Year at two galas in Montréal.
2025
INTÉRIEURS magazine takes the name of the portal and becomes the INT.DESIGN magazine.
