1. Purpose of this policy
This Privacy and Personal Information Protection Policy describes how Les Productions Interface Design inc. and La Médiathèque du Design inc. (collectively referred to as “INT.DESIGN”, “we”, “our” or “us”) collect, use, disclose, retain and protect the information obtained in the course of their activities.
It applies to all platforms, products, services, publications, competitions, events and activities operated or administered by INT.DESIGN, including the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards, Magazine INT.DESIGN, INT.TV and their digital platforms.
In this policy, the term “information” refers to personal information, professional information and any other information you choose to provide to us in connection with your use of our platforms and services. Where information makes it possible to identify a natural person directly or indirectly, it is treated as personal information in accordance with applicable laws.
Please note: This policy concerns only the processing of such information. The rules governing participation in competitions, projects, submitted content and usage rights are described in our Terms of Use.
2. Who we are
INT.DESIGN is an international ecosystem dedicated to promoting, recognizing and showcasing excellence in the fields of design, architecture, the built environment and the creative industries.
Through its platforms and services, INT.DESIGN allows you, in particular, to:
- create and manage a user account;
- take part in the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards;
- access a personalized dashboard;
- discover projects, products, companies and professionals;
- access news, publications, our search engine and inspiring content;
- subscribe to Magazine INT.DESIGN and our electronic communications;
- take part in conferences, galas and other activities.
Les Productions Interface Design inc. operates, among other things, the digital platforms, publications, communication services and activities of INT.DESIGN.
La Médiathèque du Design inc., a non-profit organization, administers in particular the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards, including the management of entries, juries, certifications and registration fees.
The two organizations collaborate in the course of their activities and may share the information necessary to provide their services, in accordance with this policy.
3. The information we collect
The information we collect varies depending on the services you use and your interactions with INT.DESIGN.
It may include the following categories:

We collect only the information necessary to provide our services, administer our activities and comply with our legal obligations.
4. How we collect your information
We collect your information when you interact with INT.DESIGN, in particular when you:
- create or update a user account;
- submit an entry;
- register for a jury, event or activity;
- purchase a product, service, subscription or ticket;
- subscribe to our electronic communications;
- complete a form or respond to a survey;
- contact our team;
- browse or use our digital platforms.
We may also collect certain information automatically when you use our websites, in particular through cookies and similar technologies.
In some cases, we may receive information from service providers or partners where this is necessary to provide our services or process a transaction.
5. Why we collect your information
We collect your information in order to:
- create, manage and secure your account;
- administer the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards and other INT.DESIGN activities;
- process your registrations, purchases, subscriptions and transactions;
- communicate with you about your account, your participation or our services;
- provide you with the products, services and publications requested;
- respond to your requests and provide customer service;
- improve our platforms, our content and the user experience;
- ensure the security and proper functioning of our systems;

In the course of our activities, INT.DESIGN may communicate with you by email or any other electronic means.

- your entries, registrations, purchases or subscriptions;
- the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards;
- juries, certifications and results;
- conferences, galas and other events;
- Magazine INT.DESIGN;
- news, publications and other INT.DESIGN activities;
- updates to our platforms, services or policies.
Some communications are necessary to administer your account, provide the services you have requested or comply with our legal obligations. Others may relate to our competitions, publications, events, products, services or other activities.
We comply with applicable laws regarding electronic communications and the protection of information.
Where permitted, you may change your communication preferences or unsubscribe from certain electronic communications by following the instructions in our emails or by contacting us.
Unsubscribing from certain communications may result in you no longer receiving certain general information about our competitions, publications, events or other activities. Information relating to your account, your entries and your transactions nevertheless remains accessible in your dashboard, where available.
7. Who we share your information with
We may share certain information about you with service providers, partners or competent authorities where this is necessary to provide our services, administer our activities or where required by law.
These providers may assist us, in particular, in the following areas:
- hosting and security of our platforms;
- payment processing;
- subscription management;
- customer relationship and communications management;
- ticketing and event management;
- statistical analysis;
- technical and IT support.
We require these providers to use your information only in connection with the services they provide to us and to apply appropriate protection measures.
We may also disclose information where required by law, where a competent authority so requests, or where necessary to protect our rights, ensure the security of our platforms or prevent fraudulent activity.
INT.DESIGN does not sell your information.
8. Retention of your information
We retain your information only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or to comply with our legal, regulatory, accounting or administrative obligations.
The retention period may vary depending on the nature of the information, the services used or the applicable legal requirements.
We periodically review the information we hold to ensure that it remains accurate, relevant and necessary.
When information is no longer required, it is deleted, anonymized or destroyed securely, in accordance with our internal practices.
9. Protecting your information
Protecting your information is a priority for INT.DESIGN.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, modification or disclosure.
Access to your information is limited to members of our staff and authorized service providers who need it in the performance of their duties.
Despite the measures in place, no computer system or method of data transmission can guarantee absolute security. We nevertheless undertake to take all reasonable measures to ensure the protection of your information.
In the event of a confidentiality incident involving your information, we take reasonable measures to reduce its consequences and to prevent further incidents of the same nature. Where the incident presents a risk of serious injury, we notify the individuals concerned and the competent authority, in accordance with applicable laws, and we record the incident in a register kept for that purpose.
10. Protection of minors’ information
Our platforms and services are not directed to minors.
Participation in the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards as an entrant is reserved for persons aged 18 and over, in accordance with our Terms of Use.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from a minor without the consent of the person having parental authority or the guardian, except where permitted by law.
In Québec, consent to the processing of the personal information of a minor under 14 years of age is given by the person having parental authority or by the guardian.
If you are a parent, a person having parental authority or a guardian and you believe that a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer. We will arrange to delete this information, in accordance with applicable laws.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
Our platforms use cookies and other similar technologies in order to, among other things:
- ensure the proper functioning of our platforms;
- remember certain preferences;
- improve your user experience;
- analyze the use of our platforms;
- measure the performance of our services;
- ensure the security of our systems.
The cookies we use fall into the following categories, among others:
- Necessary cookies: essential to the operation and security of our platforms;
- Performance and analytics cookies: which help us understand how our platforms are used in order to improve them;
- Audience measurement and marketing cookies: which allow us to evaluate and improve our communications and campaigns.
For these purposes, we use third-party services, in particular Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (Google) as well as measurement tools from Meta (Facebook). These third parties may set their own cookies and process certain information in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
On your first visit, you can accept, refuse or customize the use of cookies through our consent management tool (CookieYes).
You can change your preferences at any time using the cookie management link available on our platforms.
Refusing certain cookies may limit certain features of our platforms.
12. Third-party websites and services
Our platforms may contain links to websites, platforms or services operated by third parties.
When you leave the INT.DESIGN platforms to access an external site, the collection, use and protection of your information are governed by the privacy policies of that third party.
We encourage you to review these policies before providing information to these sites or services.
13. Transfer of information
In the course of our activities, some of our service providers may process or host information outside your province, territory or country of residence.
Before entrusting information to a third party located outside Québec, we assess the relevant factors to ensure that it will benefit from adequate protection there.
Where such transfers are necessary, we take reasonable measures to ensure that your information benefits from a level of protection consistent with applicable laws.
14. Your rights
Subject to applicable laws, you may, in particular:
- access the information we hold about you;
- request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- withdraw your consent where applicable;
- request the deletion of certain information, subject to our legal obligations;
- obtain the communication of the computerized information you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used technological format, where provided by law (portability);
- be informed where a decision concerning you is based exclusively on automated processing of your information and, where applicable, submit your observations;
- obtain details about how your information is used;
- file a complaint with the authority responsible for the protection of personal information.
