The 80,000 sqm shopping mall is the heart of the scheme, with four storeys above ground and two underground retail levels. The B2 level is connected to the platform of the metro station and the underground shopping street. The project is one of the first TOD developments in Foshan, which is a key construction of the local government. Joining the Vanke portfolio, this mixed-use development would not only be a future benchmark for an integrated community hub but a distinct urban destination.
Located in the strategic node of Sanlongwan Innovation Cluster in Foshan, adjacent to Guangzhou South Railway Station and above the Meiqi Station (under construction) of Foshan Metro Line 3, the project sits on a booming site with convenient transit linkages. As an above-station mixed-use development, it consists of integrated office towers, a high-end hotel, and a shopping mall, making it an organic "three-dimensional micro-city" in the district.
Embracing iconic architectural highlights and experimental thematic experience, the mixed-use development breaks traditional commercial convention. It aims to generate a tourist hotspot and a vibrant social hub that brings together culture, entertainment, and F&B. The design responds to the needs and expectations of the community while highlighting the uniqueness and significance of Foshan in the region.
CAN strives to offer holistic architecture design from creating a unique brand identity and story, defining the project's personality, values, and positioning with a 'CHILL' concept, which edgy and vibrant image and experience set the scene for the entire development, bringing a new kind of shopping and leisure experience. From the brand identity to the architectural design, the scheme ensures that the concept is embedded in the physical space, integrating the brand, the business, and the space.
“A Chill City Park” is the key theme of the project with “Corridor’, “Courts” and “Chambers” as core elements that interweaving the urban fabric. The “Corridor’ can be defined as linear natural infrastructure that links up other green spaces to form a green urban network. The 24-hour green corridor runs north-south, linking two gathering points and three thematic curves to the MRT station and adjacent sites.
“Courts” utilizes the north-south nodes to create an all-weather winter garden, indoor green plaza, and outdoor international food and cultural village to the south, to enhance the interactive experience between visitors and the environment. "Chambers' consists of 3 themed zones linked by two north-south nodes, offering interactive commercial experiences by energizing the area with F&B, leisure, and social hub.
The project features an array of design highlights, including a virtual gaming experience zone, a sunken plaza, landscaped green space, and the provision of barrier-free access at public footbridges which create a multi-dimensional space that seamlessly connects transport, commercial, office, hotel, and office towers, businesses, bringing visitors multiple aspects of interactive retail and shopping experience.
The project is set to transform the area into a regional urban hub, providing immersive retail experiences with fun, unique and in-person experiences that elevate the public realm and commercial design to new heights.
