From the dawn of time, tradesmen decorated Chinese porcelain with symbolic and auspicious ideas. Bat is a symbol of good fortune while deer symbolises the ability to reap rewards. The decorative details on Chinese porcelain reflect the hopes and wishes of ancient Chinese. Each generation holds a different set of expectations, while younger Millennials are driven by different desires today. We combine traditional Chinese porcelain with popular culture, aiming to bring traditional crafts and blessings into everyday life. The 3 Wishes Plates include:
"KOL" Rice Patten Plate
This seemingly traditional design when conventional Chinese prosperous symbols have been replaced by icons we often see on social media. As we spend more and more time on social media, many of us are posting simply for a satisfactory like or comment from our friends. All of us are literally living for ‘likes’.
"Bitches" Canton Style Plate
With a rich polychrome decoration of flowers, animals, this plate not only keeps the distinguishing feature of Canton style porcelain but also gives a unique sense of modernity. Male and female coworkers gathering in the office, gossiping and talking under the pretence of working hard; this plate is ideal for serving the peanuts with your friends!
"Son of the rich" Red-Glazed Plate
Modern people enjoying an ancient garden landscape creates a sense of humour between the old and new. Relaxation in a modern-day context is no more than playing guitar, or walking the dog!
