TAKE A SEAT! Your Place at the Table
A large urban table, 100 meters long, undulates under the canopy of American Honey locust trees, revealing a succession of different place settings and atmospheres created by the staging of a hundred or so recycled objects that animate and inhabit it. These iconic objects, associated with the world of gastronomy, have been judiciously placed to offer cues for intuitive physical distancing, in all subtlety.
A bright graphic signature and subdued lighting allow the usually very shady park to be inviting day and night. The colour yellow thus shines in this tone-on-tone installation. This festive, bright and cheerful colouring is an eye-catcher and creates a marked contrast to the monochrome shades of the existing park. An invigorating oasis in the heart of the city, the table invites curiosity and discovery and was designed to safely welcome citizens who are reappropriating downtown Montreal following several weeks of confinement in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. The layout offers passers-by an eye-catching promenade and a break and relaxation area compliant with current health standards.
