The inspiration behind DECCO the toddlermonitor ™ was a mom’s discovery one night that her 2-year-old exited the house undetected. Shockingly, she learned no product existed to monitor and alert parents to movements of toddler -aged children to keep them safe. Door locks didn’t feel safe and security systems cannot be transported when travelling. Enter DECCO the toddlermonitor, the next generation toddler monitoring device designed in partnership with Design 1st. The Toddler Monitor co-founders came to Design 1st with a working prototype for a baby monitor and had ideas for the final design, however, needed a partner to help transform the Arduino –driven proof of concept into a child-friendly, low-cost connected device ready for mass production.
Working alongside Design 1st's team of industrial designers and engineers, the co-founders explored several manufacturing design concepts to find a final product that met their requirements. DECCO the toddlermonitor™ is a smart device that is cute, lightweight, and portable. Fully charged for up to five days, it’s controlled by the free DECCO the toddlermonitor™ app, hangs on any doorknob, and delivers instant customizable alerts if a child leaves the bedroom. It pairs with iOS devices and includes the latest Bluetooth LE technology to cover homes of all sizes. Made with baby friendly 100% BPA silicone materials, DECCO the toddlermonitor is completely nontoxic and has no small parts to swallow.
