In recent years, the construction of hotels in Japan has been on the rise in response to the increasing number of inbound travelers, and hotel chains are scrambling to differentiate themselves by developing new brands as a way to open more stores. Hotels catering to the millennial generation, known as lifestyle hotels, are also on the rise. The new "Canvas" brand developed by Royal Park Hotels is a new challenge to the millennial generation.
The design concept is "Transformed Classic" and incorporates various localities.
The Kitahama district of Osaka, where the hotel is located, is characterized by many historical buildings that create a unique atmosphere, and the design is based on transforming the classic architectural style for the millennial generation. The lion statue at the foot of the Naniwa Bridge, which spans Nakanoshima on the north side of the site, is featured in the design. The lion is featured in the ceiling motif of the lounge, art, guest rooms, and other areas of the interior design, making it easy for the millennial generation to communicate on social media.
