Abri Solaire Multi-Voile pour le Skatepark de l’École Joseph-Hermas de Granby
Elegant, dynamic and captivating design
The solar shelter at the Joseph-Hermas school skatepark in Granby is much more than just a shelter. It’s a functional work of art that combines aesthetics and utility. The custom shelter by Marc-André Brochu is composed of three superimposed sails, creating a striking play of light and shadow. These veils are designed to filter sunlight while letting in a soft luminosity. Imagine yourself under these veils, bathed in a subdued ambience, protected from UV rays.
The designer has carefully chosen a color palette that contrasts with the skatepark’s surroundings. Dynamic shades of blue, yellow and green stand out perfectly in the landscape to highlight the elegance of the structure. Straight galvanized steel posts and curved kite-shaped canvases create a dynamic visual effect captivating the eye of visitors
The shelter has been designed to encourage social interaction. Complementary benches under the sails invite skateboarders and spectators to gather, socialize and enjoy the welcome shade. It’s a space where the community comes together, where laughter and discussion mingle with the clatter of skateboards.
In short, the multi-sail solar shelter at the Joseph-Hermas school skatepark in Granby is much more than just a shelter. It’s a masterpiece that combines functionality, design and beauty. Whether for protection from the blazing sun or to admire its aesthetics, this shelter is an eye-catcher and creates an unforgettable experience for all who frequent it.
