Bubble tea culture is very popular in Vancouver, and we had the impression that most of the bubble tea shops here are similar to each other, in terms of products, vibe, environment. Chiclusso Studio was trying to create a commercial space that not only serves bubble tea but also functions as a community channel that connects people in the neighborhood.
With the intention to diminish the boundary between our customers and staff, we applied the semi-transparent artificial marble for our counter, with the vague and ambient light emanating from it.
In order to make the products more attractive, we chose to use a warm tone for the lighting. The other concept in our design is to insert a hint of nature into our concrete-wrapped modern life. In order to achieve this, we created a huge green wall that is made with artificial plants, with a cheering motto in the form of neon lights hidden in it.
We do have the intention to balance the artificiality and naturality, and we bring in fresh flowers into the space to contrast it.
Bringing some cheerfulness and playfulness is also a goal in our design, we chose furniture pieces that are bright, playful, and interactive. In this way, we can potentially include customers of all age groups.
We wanted to create a concise space with a coherent language. And we tried to achieve this by selecting materials carefully and attentively.
