Programme particulier d’urbanisme (PPU) TOD des gares Ahuntsic et Chabanel – Arrondissement Ahuntsic-Cartierville (Ville de Montréal)
By : Ville de Montréal, L’Atelier Urbain et HUMÀ Design + Architecture
GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 14th edition
Discipline : Urban Design, Landscape Architecture & Landscaping
Categories : Urban Design / TOD Project : Platinum Winner
Located at the junction of two commuter train lines, the planning area benefits from a central location on the island of Montréal and in the metropolitan area. It takes advantage of the proximity of heavy public transit infrastructure and equipment, including the two train stations and several metro stations, favouring its consolidation as a true urban hub. One of these stations offers the possibility of a connection to the Réseau express métropolitain (REM), which is being implemented in the Montréal metropolitan region. It is therefore an opportunity to frame the territory in order to ensure a coherent development of the district and to allow the creation of complete and sustainable living environments for the local population. Based on a participatory, open, transparent and particularly inclusive approach, the planning process has made it possible to develop a common vision of the development and planning of the TOD area for the next 20 years.
