The project is located at the southern gates of the city of Laval, on Le Corbusier Boulevard. This 6,000-square-foot facility used to be home to a sports shop specializing in performance cycling.
The space is cubic in shape with high ceilings, a static form without much directionality like a rectangular space. The fenestration and the main entrance were the central elements that dictated the first gestures of configuration of the space.
From the outset, it was clear that we were going to have to divide the space into two dining rooms on two levels, one on the ground and the other on the mezzanine overlooking the restaurant. The mezzanine provides another perspective on the entire space and allows us to build the kitchen below while the floor space is subdivided into different dining rooms.
After discussion with the client, it became clear to us that the theme developed would be freedom. Elements such as wind and birds seemed to us to be faithful representations of the theme.
From the first steps in the restaurant, we are greeted by a flight of birds that leads us to the back of the restaurant. While enjoying the route, we feel this wind of renewal that takes us through the different rooms and makes us appreciate this chic and tasteful space.
