GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 12th edition
Lines and levity, nuances and transparency. ARCHITEM Wolff Shapiro Kuskowski architectes’ renovated elevated terrace for a classic Crescent Street home is a truly spectacular, urban oasis.
The materials chosen here are stone, metal, glass and wood. As an ensemble, they form a modern and noble setting, ensuring comfort and durability. Along the facade, a metallic panel with laser-cut-out motifs offers intimacy, while filtering natural light during the day and creating a most magical graphic effect at nightfall. The terrace houses a lounge area, a dining space and a small home garden. The versatile motorized pergola, with pivoting metal blades, adapts to various weather conditions. Three feet below, the overflowing swimming pool showcases a clear and retractable railing to better enjoy the view and watch over young swimmers.
The jury was charmed by the transparency, simplicity and space optimization of this paradisiacal project.
