Located in the heart of the Place des Festivals, the project consists of two mixed residential towers on a commercial podium. The pair of towers is articulated in a sculptural and dynamic way which freezes up most of the roof of the podium to include green space and rooftop terraces.
At street level, a courtyard for the adjacent restaurants interrupts the commercial frontage of Sainte-Catherine street, where the old Spectrum venue used to stand. Small cultural performances could be hosted in this courtyard echoing the Montreal institution now gone.
One of the signature elements of the project is on the 26th floor, when a gap between the rental lower levels and condo upper levels of each tower leaves room for a floor of amenities linked by a skybridge along with its very own rooftop terrace. The bridge, unique in Montreal, presides over the entire Places des Arts and Place des Festivals.
Inside, the amenities offered distill the essence of everything that makes Montreal’s city life appealing to its citizens. In short, it is a mix of culture, gastronomy, physical well-being, leisure, entertainment, and socializing. All of which tastefully designed in a contemporary mixture of materials and shapes articulated in a sculptural monumentality, almost museum-like, in homage to the numerous neighboring cultural institutions.
