Le Littoral is a contemporary residence nestled in the natural setting of La Malbaie, in Charlevoix. Designed to serve as both a family pied-à-terre and a luxury tourist home, Le Littoral celebrates the breathtaking view of the river and promotes user comfort thanks to its sleek and functional design. Indeed, the designers have succeeded in creating a home with a minimalist, durable and honest design, which honors the experience of the place in all its simplicity and beauty.
To make the Littoral an ideal meeting place and resort, a swimming pool, a sauna and spa, a fireplace, a kitchen equipped with professional tools are at the disposal of users. A neutral color palette, with finishes in noble materials, the use of off-axis volumes and function determining form are trademarks of Architecture49.
Deconstructing and reworking the silhouette of the region's farm buildings, the house integrates discreetly into its environment. A special effort was made to minimize the impact on the land, wood cutting and terracing. Thus the house is set on a precise axis, chosen to magnify the view of the river and offer great intimacy thanks to the forest at the back. The project also integrates itself into the environment of its region by calling upon local resources, businesses and artisans.
