Intended for a young family passionate about the outdoors, this residence, located in the peaceful Sainte-Agathe region in the heart of the Laurentians, nestles at the top of a heavily wooded hill. As one approaches, the house reveals itself as a deconstructed form of several merged volumes. Its complex set of sloping roofs gives the impression of a small group of houses, reminiscent of the hamlet. The client's desire was to create a high-end and daring residence based on ecological, efficient and sustainable criteria.
Its 4,500 square feet spread over three floors articulate in a crescent shape to create a large open central courtyard. The different orientations given to each of the volumes maximize natural light entry and solar energy gains. This configuration creates a fusional integration with nature and offers a very wide variety of views. In addition to the living and sleeping areas, a large changing room displays all types of sports equipment and gives direct access to the forest.
Winner of the 2019 Domus-Prestigious Residential Award for the quality of workmanship, this residence greatly exceeds national ecological requirements with its LEED GOLD V4 certification and an overall recycling rate of 73%.
