Le Florilège is a six-storey residential property for retirees, which includes 337 units–36 of which are care units designed to accommodate semi-autonomous residents. The building is divided into four volumes around a central courtyard. The occupants benefit from several common areas, including a swimming pool, a cinema, a terrace lounge and two interior courtyards. The care wing features common collaborative spaces, including a kitchen area and a large table for group activities, promoting dialogue and socialization. All apartments follow the through-building typology and offer various possibilities for personalization.
Design choices prioritize residents’ well-being, and facilitate several spatial innovations, especially within the outdoor amenities. The central courtyard, developed on a limited surface area, has been oriented to optimize space and natural light. Materials have been selected based on their refection index. A green roof terrace connects residents with nature through urban agriculture activities. Its location, two storeys lower than average amenities, protects the terrace from the wind. An outdoor dining area is set up along the public thoroughfare, in connection with the nearby park. Its design and openness to the street are inspired by restaurant terraces.
