French restaurant ‘Le Crocodile’ is an institution in Vancouver. It is consistently voted as one of the top 3 best French restaurants and recently, winner of the ‘Ordre du Mérite Agricole’ by the French government in 2020.
Owner, Michel Jacob, approached Isometrix Design Inc. to upgrade the restrooms because a customer had told him that, “Un restaurant est aussi bon que ses toilettes!” (A restaurant is only as good as its restrooms!)
As anyone who has ever worked on a restaurant knows, renovations have to be fast and furious. Every day missed is a day of business which translates into thousands of dollars.
The team had a tight budget and just 9 days to complete.
The restrooms were stripped down to the bare studs. Separate colour schemes were used for the men’s and ladies’. A new model of environmentally friendly compact recessed Bobrick hand dryers were sourced and automatic motion-censored Rubi faucets were used over the elegant semi recessed sinks. Tall bespoke mirrors were designed to enhance the space and compliment the ambient glass cylindrical pendant spot lights.
The restrooms were completed on time and on budget with such success that Mr. Jacob reported that some of his guests asked if they could dine in them! Touché!
