Le Bourbon is a residential project located on Sainte-Catherine Street between Alexandre De-Sève and Champlain streets, in the heart of a neighbourhood with a strong identity and a rich history. Le Bourbon is built on the site of the once iconic building of the same name – the first nightlife complex dedicated to the LGBTQ + community in North America. This mixed-use project offers commercial spaces on the ground floor, office spaces for local nonprofits on the second floor, and over 100 residential units on the upper floors. Le Bourbon stands out thanks to its bold architecture while respecting its integration in the neighborhood. Noble materials, that also reflect the neighborhood's identity, such as varnished brick and glass blocks, pay homage to the Village's history with a contemporary style. Through its singular architecture, the new Bourbon building keeps its vital role as an identifying sign on Sainte-Catherine Street East.
The proximity to many services, two metro stations and the seasonal pedestrianization of Sainte-Catherine street offers added value and increases foot traffic in the area. In terms of sustainable development, it appears necessary to densify this sector, which is well served by public transit, to benefit as many users as possible. In addition, the revitalization of Gareau street enhances sustainable mobility and the quality of life of residents.
