Discipline : Communication & Brand Design
Categories : Environmental Design / Mural & Artistic Installation : Platinum Winner
Categories : Environmental Design / Signage : Gold Certification
Visually inspired by the late 1960s, the graphic universe of Le Germain Montréal Hotel takes life by its blend of retro and modern. The signage and wayfinding concept, as well as the strategically planned environmental graphic interventions, contribute to the user experience by seamlessly integrating to the interior design through their modular and circular shapes. The colour palette and choice of materials strengthen the wayfinding effectiveness and contribute to the refinement of the signs with elegance, effectively reaching the Hotel’s visitors. The culmination of these interventions is a printed mural that has been integrated in the most intimate portion of the guestrooms: the washroom area. In this small space, visitors are captivated by a series of archival digital collages. These take our eyes on a journey, from top to bottom in a 360 degree panorama, through different historical, cultural and architectural events that took place during the period. The overall visual experience is set between two time periods, triggering curiosity or calling on memories, immersing visitors in a time-travel like experience.
