Safe Haven
When specifying the localization of a swimming pool, the designer makes sure to
create privacy, security, and plan the space. Her clients have sought advice on reducing the visual field causing discomfort on both sides of the fence. Following research on the city's website, she based her design on the specifics of a garden pavilion to meet the needs. She modeled the space and virtually built the pavilion in order to assess the visual fields from different perspectives and to identify and solve design problems before the construction site. She ultimately positioned the angle of the sun in her software to check the pool for sunlight and replaced the side walls with glass panels. The designer requested that the project be submitted to the city to prevent a possible complaint and, although initially refused; once presented in pictures, well explained and supported by the regulations, the project was approved.
