The Four Seasons Montreal is annexed to, and carefully integrated with, the iconic Holt Renfrew Ogilvy building. The 18-storey multifunctional complex includes a 169-room hotel and 18 private residences as well as commercial spaces.
The concept stands out in the subtle articulation of its façades, defining the building's interior functions on the outside. The golden bas-relief amplifies this graphic effect: a fault emerges, folds inwards and runs vertically, marking the centre of the building with a thin golden blade. The effect evokes the elegance of a gold chain on a black dress.
Adorned in a black, assertive and distinctive casing, the tower captures light differently on each floor, interacting with the downtown cityscape. The glass envelope poses a delicate veil over naturally subdued interior spaces. The fine assembly of the glass walls gives an ethereal, almost immaterial, impression of the whole.
The first floors are articulated according to pedestrian scale at street level and delicately anchor the project in its environment. The result is a statement of streamlined volumes and meticulous detailing that embody the luxury and elegance of the world-renowned hotel banner.
