Internationally renowned Minarc has recreated an art collector's sanctuary. Fusing the luxurious tree canopy of an Upper Nichols Canyon location with an effective use of green methods and materials, this project is inspired by the beautifully dramatic landscapes found in nature.
The inviting room includes a marble covered fireplace and a Boffi kitchen with a spacious island connecting the kitchen and dining area to enhance the flow of the space. The first level offers a home office with front facing views alongside a powder room featuring black marble walls imitating the flow of Icelandic lava and a recycled rubber sink, made of recycled rubber tires with the intention of repurposing and reusing materials to the fullest. There was a conscious effort in using only materials in their most organic form. Sustainability exceeds beyond what materials were used in this project. Design elements are oriented to take optimum advantage of natural light and cross ventilation, while there is a maximum use of natural light to cut down on electrical costs. Furthermore, floor material is connected in an unobtrusive and whimsical manner to increase the flow and space of the home.
Upstairs the sophisticated and serene master suite includes sitting areas, a private balcony, a walk-in closet and a luxurious bath, alongside additional en-suite bedrooms, each with their designated outdoor space and a generous library complete the home. Created with the environment in mind.
