Esplanade Cartier is a living environment that takes shape near the Jacques-Cartier Bridge. Vibrant and colorful, like the Sainte-Marie neighbourhood, it relies on social diversity, mixed-use spaces and active transportation to revitalize this part of the Sainte-Marie neighbourhood. With its shops, its terraces and its offices, the placette encourages interactions between locals. Plus the vast public green space is a welcome respite for everyone. This is à project where first-time buyers and families live side by side, and workers and locals alike stroll the sidewalks – creating a lively space that’s safe and secure, day and night.
The Esplanade Cartier site will be developed into 6 distinct blocks, which will offer a diversity of residential, office, community or commercial uses, in order to ensure a diversity of users. Our desire is to create a place that will be connected to the existing neighborhood. The entire project was developed to promote social interactions. Focusing on the collective imagination of those who have already embraced the area’s distinctive vibe, the project aims to benefit the community as à whole. Concretely, the project guides foot traffic through its site, which offers spectacular views of the Jacques Cartier Bridge. As you enter the placette on Sainte-Catherine Street you are led to the spacious park, which connects to the projects’ different lots, and on to René-Lévesque Boulevard.
