This theater has been designed for the extension of the Music Faculty of the University of Montreal. It sees itself as a gateway to Mount Royal and a transition between the city and the mountain. Highly respectful of the environment in which it is established, this project seeks to connect the density of the mountain’s interior to its surface through the experience of the performance hall and its foyer. This by establishing a true formal, spatial and functional dialogue with the Music Faculty in order to create a stimulating environment for students. It is therefore around these dualities that the project draws its richness and through a contrasted and sensitive intervention to the implantation environment.
