Boreal Comfort
The designer was hired to help improve a stagnant project and then, not being satisfied with the result of the 3D modeling, asked if she could start from scratch. By retaining the silhouette of the chalet and the shape of the kitchen opening onto an upstairs loft; the designer redesigned the corridors, doors, windows, and the staircase based on both interior and exterior perspectives. To maximize cohabitation, she divided the rooms so that they could be used independently or continuously thanks to long sunny corridors. She then arranged the colors and materials to emphasize the different volumes while maintaining the visual unity of the open area and adjacent rooms. Finally, she created an L-shaped outdoor terrace that harmonizes with the entrance using minimalist and slender structures. Designed to be located north of Montreal, this chalet has everything to offer a Boreal Comfort.
