The schoolyard of Collège Saint-Paul, mainly made up of asphalt areas, has been completely redesigned. Faced with a development issue that separated the school grounds into two distinct sections, a street was purchased by the Collège to unify the outdoor space.
The different areas have been laid out according to the gradation of activities. Near the school, the lounge area furnished with high tables, IPE furniture and platforms with various back features allows students to eat and discuss outdoors.
The central section, partially shaded by stretched canvases, serves as an exterior classroom. Equipped with long high and low tables, the space can accommodate larger groups. Adjacent to this space, a concrete platform becomes a theater stage, the performances of which can be observed from the green platform.
The new layout continues with the entertainment area made of synthetic turf where physical activities take place. We can find table tennis tables and an outdoor training circuit. A colourful running track encircles all the central areas.
Next come the active sport fields, ranging from multi-court basketball to mini-soccer, dek hockey and competitive soccer fields.
The presence of numerous water retention basins allows the vitality of abundant vegetation. A gigantic “PAUL” proudly stands in the center of the schoolyard, marking the new era of this outdoor space.
