Club La Voûte
GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 11th edition
Established in what was once the Royal Bank’s vaults in Old Montreal, the club La Voûte drew inspiration from its history to offer a unique ambiance. The decor is reminiscent of the private clubs of yesteryear with numerous wood mouldings, brass and velvet, while allowing the building to express its original components. Thus, we find a magnificently ornate coffered ceiling and brick walls, as well as imposing doors to the vaults that watched over fortunes in the 1930s.
Moodesign designers wonderfully captured the space’s essence to distill a contemporary decor, while conscious of the past that lies just below the surface. The layout is filled with well-thought-out details which support one another in the creation of the club’s strong identity. Thus in a powder room, the walls covered in silver ceramic evoke the treasures that were once collected in the space, while respecting the entire decor’s slightly baroque tone. The spectacular lighting contributes to showcasing the unique space that plays the game of a select ambiance that is open to all.
