DMA proceeded with the complete renovation and redevelopment of the Pedodontics and Prosthodontics clinics of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Université de Montréal, both clinics are in the Roger-Gaudry Pavilion, a legendary heritage building on this campus.
The existing design no longer met the standards required by the Commission on Dental Accreditation; the authority responsible for accrediting university dental education programs. The completely redesigned spaces provide private areas for consultations (dental chair) while allowing clinical professors to have an overview of the premises. The integration of customized furniture (dispensaries), the selection of new finishes and the choice of colouring adapted to the two clinics enabled the design of colourful, dynamic and stimulating environments, to the great satisfaction of the Faculty and its students.
The pedodontic clinic has eight open-space dental stations, a closed room and a new multi-functional meeting room, while the prosthodontic clinic has fifteen dental workstations as well as a new laboratory for students to create prostheses. We designed and implemented the entire project. This overall redevelopment, in a university building classified as a heritage site, remained complex in terms of the requirements for practice and teaching laboratories of this level.
