In the heart of the Bourse neighbourhood, opposite the Palais Brongniart, the Vivienne project was a rehabilitation of an existing building.
Inside, the aim was to offer maximum of open-space area and flexibility to occupants. Large « full height » furniture shelves replaced the partitions and the window frames were covered with oak and brass. The acoustic ceilings integrate custom-designed lights and technical elements such as air conditioning are hidden in the circulation area. On the outside, the volume was preserved.
On the crown, a Hainaut blue stone cladding covers the façade and roof to connect them using softened edges: a technique performed for only the second time in France.
The alignment of the openings between the attic and the rest of the building was restored. On the last two levels, new bays offer a wide view of the Place de la Bourse and significantly increase the supply of natural light.
