GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN – 14th edition
Discipline : Interior Design
Categories : Office / Office: Professional & Financial Service Firm
The project involved the complete fit-out of the 30 800 sq2 available for the BMO Financial Group's new offices and meeting spaces, spread over two floors. In addition to the closed and open-plan offices, which mainly make up the second floor, the project includes a multitude of spaces with well-defined purposes. A complete business center, which includes a self-service kitchenette area, available to BMO Financial Group's select clientele, is a key element of this project as it puts emphasis on the importance to meet the client’s operational needs. The lobby, with its floating architectural staircase that creates a communicating area with the 2nd floor, serves as a reception point and, at the same time, as an events area. In addition, meeting and video conference rooms of various sizes, a connection cafe area, as well as small cubicles to facilitate work that requires concentration and isolation, are all made accessible to employees.
These spaces have all been designed with the objective of creating a multi-functional, timeless environment that reflects the bank's corporate image. Access to natural light is central to the design but the latter also incorporates several interesting lighting interventions. Finally, it is a space that succeeds in offering both employees and prestigious clients great flexibility through access, at all times and in all places, to the tools that enable them to carry out their work.
