Cycle manufacturer, Argon18 had to find a new space. It was in collaboration with the Danish design firm, Johannes Torpe Studios, that Conceptum developed the project. The original intention? Bring together several worlds of the business under one roof while maintaining the harmony of the space. While tracing the history of the company over time, the client wanted to create a space with a unique experience. Before looking at conceptual application through materiality, the planning study had a major place in the architectural process. The allocation of the so-called public vs private sectors, as well as the analysis of traffic flows made it possible to integrate the exhibition hall into the heart of the space. This centerpiece, a link between all sectors, is intended to be the vision for the future of cycling. Symmetry creates an illusion of infinity and refers to innovation and science. A multiple use area, the reception allows a variety of layouts. Initially used for welcoming guests, the space also serves as a social place for employees. With its dark atmosphere, raw materials and industrial aspect, this sector illustrates the past. Also serving as an exhibition area, the display of bikes from previous years helps retrace the history of Argon18. A strong contrast between these two areas (past versus future), marked by the use of tints and light, makes the experience unique.
