This residence in the suburbs of Montreal pushes the boundaries of design and integration. All the architectural furniture in the dining room, living room, powder room and entrance as well as the staircase leading to the basement is custom made and created with a single tree; a gray elm obtained in the United States. From the entrance, a backlit frosted glass wall opens onto an elegant powder room. The re-cut flagstone slate floor and refined joints provide a modern and revisited look. The organization of the kitchen is based on the family synergy of three children. The addition of a sink at the end of the counter and an adjacent laundry room, facilitates daily activities. The gym, a transparent box between the pool and the living space, has a gray cork floor with a resilient texture. The imposing retractable glass doors of the indoor and outdoor swimming pool allow the opening onto the landscape. Heart of the residence and central element, the aerial staircase with glass railings leads to the master suite closed by an oversized sliding wooden door. Innovative, the linear concept of the bathroom allows an open shower with a long bench and glass walls back painted in white. The children's bathroom, with touches of fireman red, provides a playful atmosphere. Located at the front of the counter, the water control knobs make it easy for little ones to access.
