Vallem sur l’eau – Living in harmony with nature

Located along the Richelieu River in Otterburn Park, Vallem sur l’eau redefines the rental experience through a design focused on flow, light, and connection to the natural environment. Developed by Otium Immobilier, the project showcases the expertise of Chagall, responsible for the design of the common areas, and Chagall Signature, who carried out the construction.

From the moment you enter the lobby, the atmosphere is set : welcoming, serene, and refined. Soft curves, controlled lighting, natural materials, and integrated greenery create a cohesive environment inspired by boutique hotels. This intentional design continues through every shared space, conceived as both inviting and comfortable places to live.

The project features a fitness room with green walls, a yoga space, a children’s play area with a custom-built structure, a guest suite, and a variety of cozy communal zones. Each space is tailored to its purpose, while remaining unified through a carefully chosen material palette: light wood, solid quartz, textured fabrics, and neutral tones.

The entire approach is guided by a strong biophilic philosophy. Soft-toned vinyl floors, full-height cabinetry with waterfall detailing, filtered natural light, and abundant vegetation all support a lifestyle that is healthy, balanced, and closely connected to nature. These elements help foster a calming environment that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The project’s innovation lies in its ability to deliver a complete, adaptable rental experience. The guest suite — rare in rental developments — allows residents to comfortably host family and friends. Glass partitions visually connect spaces while maintaining functional separation, an advantage especially appreciated by families. The children’s playroom includes a custom, submarine-inspired play structure that aligns with the project’s visual language.

Custom millwork designed and built by Chagall plays a key role in shaping the space: vertical storage, built-in seating, and multifunctional surfaces contribute to intuitive navigation, optimized use of space, and a strong sense of visual harmony.
