The new Corner Store concept revives the intimate, bustling restaurants of Soho’s past at the intersection of West Broadway and Houston Street. With careful attention to layout, we created a variety of rooms and dining styles—every seat in the house is as great as the food. Beautiful, comfortable leather booths (reflecting our obsession with the perfect scale and materiality), tailored banquettes, and pocket garden dining create an experience that dials into the soul of the neighborhood and brings back a restaurant experience that is now a rarity in the city. Curated photography and artwork create a lived-in feel, representing the city’s artists and foundational archetypes. The restaurant is from the team behind Catch Hospitality Group.
The Corner Store is an homage to a classic New York bar and restaurant—that warm, welcoming neighborhood stalwart that offers both a patina of history and feels as though it’s been there forever, as well as a luxurious portal to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Warm vintage inspired lighting accentuates the eclectic material palette of antiqued brass, textured plaster, classic checkered marble flooring, and high-gloss wood paneling. The spaces open up progressively, with intimate warmth giving way to cool and classic. To the north, an enclosed glass covered patio is an all-season dining room that can be open to the elements in the warmer months.
