Rockwood Village
Rockwood Village is a promise fulfilled—a community nexus where every individual is seen, valued, and empowered. Developed with Community Development Partners (CDP) and Hacienda CDC, this neighborhood redefines belonging. Inspired by historic town squares, it cultivates access to nature, discovery, and daily rituals. Communal spaces—grand and intimate—unfold beneath towering evergreens for morning walks, afternoon play, and evening celebrations under the stars.
A Civic Heartbeat | Welcoming Public Realm
Buildings frame a vibrant civic common, while art- and tree-lined corridors link to the 185th Avenue Greenway, regional transit, downtown Rockwood, and Vance Park Natural Area. Prioritizing pedestrians, Rockwood Village ensures safe, intuitive, and joyful passage through streets designed for walking, gathering, and lingering.
A Multiuse Loop & Sustainable Streets
A pedestrian loop—also an exercise track—unites homes, schools, businesses, and services. Convenient parking features cost-effective stormwater solutions and permeable pavers, showcasing resilience as both functional and beautiful. Outdoor spaces form a mosaic of shaded picnic groves, winding trails, a flexible play field, an engaging play hub, and a thriving community garden.
A Garden | Cultivating Food, Culture, and Future Generations
Through resident engagement, Neighbors Park emerged as a lush communal gathering place. Near the north entrance, a partnership with Mudbone Grown—a Black-owned farming enterprise—brings intergenerational knowledge and food security to the heart of Rockwood Village. Hands in the soil foster farming skills, entrepreneurship, and self-sufficiency, while after-school programs and job training nurture community bonds. Each seed planted becomes a step toward empowerment and generational wealth.
Community Center | Unity & Convergence
The community center anchors cultural events, workshops, and social gatherings, featuring a full kitchen and flexible lounge.
A Workforce Housing Model | Neighborhood Homecoming
This state-subsidized workforce housing model makes opportunity a right, lowering income eligibility to 30% of AMI. Rockwood Village is a sanctuary for Rockwood’s diverse, hardworking families—where over 30 languages are spoken and nearly 70% of residents identify as people of color. Every path, tree, and connection pulses with place, purpose, and harmony.
Rockwood Village is a homecoming—a testament that no matter where your journey begins, you deserve a place to feel safe, seen, and embraced. Here, the earth remembers your footsteps, trees stand as quiet guardians, and every path leads toward a future of resilience and belonging.
