The Laurentides Residence — A Design Rooted in Nature

Conceived as a primary residence for a young couple seeking grounding and light, the Laurentides Residence reflects the harmony between natural aesthetics, clean lines, and sensitive materiality.

Built on an open-plan structure with cathedral ceilings, the home generously opens to its surroundings thanks to the immense windows and large sliding doors located at the back of the house. These flood the spaces with natural light, creating a soothing continuity with the outdoors. At the front, the large double solid wood doors also bring in beautiful light, offering a classic and timeless warmth right from the entrance.

This constant dialogue with the exterior guides the overall layout, where every element has been designed to promote serenity and warmth. The dominant organic materials — solid wood, natural stone, concrete, lime plaster, rich yet neutral textures — instill a sense of balance and authenticity. The earthy tone palette unfolds in fluid, bright, and soothing spaces.

The modern solid wood kitchen combines functionality and aesthetics, while the sober and clean living room highlights exposed beams that enhance the natural elegance of the place. A mudroom designed for functionality meets daily needs while fitting into the overall aesthetic.

The spacious, open, and light-filled staircase connects the two levels in a fluid motion, under a cathedral ceiling that enhances the impression of grandeur and openness. In the absence of a basement, custom storage has been discreetly integrated, preserving the purity and coherence of the design.

The Laurentides Residence is thus an invitation to slow down, to fully inhabit each space, and to live gently in tune with nature.
