Boul. Mont-Royal
Interior design of a prestigious condo located at 1420 Boul. Mont-Royal, a real estate project located at the foot of the mountain, in Outremont.
The proposed layout respects this former convent, an iconic heritage building. High ceilings, plaster moldings, arches, skylight, herringbone parquet, and marble-effect porcelain; the finishing details and selected materials pay homage to its history, while maintaining a certain sobriety and contemporary style. The modern and current furniture anchors the space in the present.
The living area benefits from generous fenestration, magnified by sumptuous curtains that allow for variations in ambiance. The irregular and angular perimeter space has been maximized. The kitchen island was abandoned in favor of the dining table. The chic kitchen with its Haussmann-style accents, with its cut-mold cabinets and contrasting stone alcove, frames the dining room table. This provides a clear space along the back facade, where a conversation area is inserted between the dining room and the living room, a privileged space enjoying the opening onto the wooded mountain area. The office corner is adjacent to a fluted glass screen and a glass-like cupboard, which separates it from the living area while allowing natural light to filter through.
The main bathroom, dressed in marbled porcelain, subtly echoes the ecclesiastical past of the place. Emphasis is placed on the bathtub, which is found facing the entrance, imposing itself like an altar. It backs onto a darker accent wall where a minimalist ornament is drawn, organizing vertically and aligning the cross-shaped faucet controls, a niche for products, and a wall light crowned by an arch. The shower is enclosed by a skylight, which has a fluted glass section that discreetly hides the toilet. A vanity with contemporary lines brings warmth to the space with its walnut façade. Mounted on legs, it integrates a towel holder into its structure. The large oblong mirror helps enlarge the space and converses with the room's rounded details, particularly the arched alcove of the shower. A lovely walnut stool completes the composition.
At the end of an intimate corridor widening at its end, we find the master bedroom. It enjoys an integrated storage wall, creating a contrasting accent wall at the back of the room.
