Sustainability Built on Collaboration

Among many global cities, Montreal was officially chosen to host the permanent Canadian offices of this newly created international organization.

Housed in one wing of the iconic Place Ville Marie, the goal of this new organization was to create a space that promotes the collaborative exchange of ideas among diverse groups of people working together towards the betterment of our planet. To achieve this, the architecture, furniture, and cutting-edge technology had to provide a dynamic, innovative, and flexible environment while exuding a calm, bright, and soothing work atmosphere inherent with biophilic design.

Our initial experience is passing through the captivating wooden entryway, where the space then immediately reveals itself to a light-filled environment.

Free of any built forms, the perimeter of the space creates an open area that allows natural light to infuse the interior and offers a direct connection to downtown Montreal – with Mount Royal on one side and the Saint Lawrence River on the other. Within this negative space that fluidly wraps the core, a multitude of flexible functions can be found: workstations, the Bistro, and a variety of collaborative spaces essential to support and promote the success of this new organization.

The entire space comes to life in an atmosphere of tranquility, lush greenery, and calm, where the boundaries between the outdoors and indoors blend harmoniously. By using materials and colors inspired by nature, such as white oak, lime-washed walls, and fabrics in terracotta and mustard tones, a true living environment is created – one that fosters interaction, collaboration, and well-being to support and promote the noble and sustainability goals of this organization.
