The Art of the Horizon: The Architect's Vision through the Photographer's Eye
A collaboration between Maryse Leduc Architect & Designer and EdiCarbo Photos
Architecture in the Service of the Territory Nestled in the heart of the majestic landscapes of Charlevoix, this residence by architect Maryse Leduc is more than just a structure; it is a dialogue with the horizon. The project is based on exemplary landscape integration where every architectural line seems to have been dictated by the topography. The orientation of the house, designed with absolute respect for the environment, makes the Saint Lawrence River the central focus of every space.
This tourist property called Maison Fleuve invites its guests to take time to pause, contemplate, admire, dream, and be inspired by the architectural work, an impressive window onto the Saint Lawrence River and its sunrises!
The design favors a bold bioclimatic approach. Thanks to generous and strategic fenestration, the house captures not only breathtaking views but also natural thermal energy. This mastery of passive light creates an atmosphere of enveloping warmth, reducing the energy footprint while constantly offering renewed visual comfort.
The goal of EdiCarbo Photos: Capturing the architectural work in nature
Elevating such a work demands a vision capable of interpreting volume and void. The signature of EdiCarbo Photos is manifested here by a deep understanding of three-dimensionality. By choosing viewpoints that systematically integrate the structure into its natural context, the photographer reveals the fluidity of spaces and the rigor of materials.
The true tour de force lies in the management of temporal light. EdiCarbo Photos doesn't just photograph a building; it documents the life of the architecture through time and seasons. From the crystalline brightness of the sunrise over the river to the muted shadows and amber hues of dusk, the lens captures chromatic subtleties that only natural light can sculpt.
Each shot is a demonstration of technical precision and artistic emotion, transforming a wall of the architecture into a living work of art. This photographic series celebrates the meeting between the sustainable vision of the architect and the photographer's talent for magnifying reality.
