Maison Nature asserts itself as a black cube, bold and sovereign, set into the mountainside at the heart of nature. This audacious architectural envelope houses an interior design project that reveals its full richness. The design concept rests on a deep dialogue with the existing architecture, translating the clients' vision into an inhabited wellness sanctuary. The tension between the strength of the envelope and the softness of the interior becomes the guiding thread, shaping every decision.
Interior courtyards flood the space with light and greenery, acting as true breathing spaces at the heart of the various volumes. These integrated zen gardens transform each room into a contemplative observatory. The layout, orchestrated around these oases, creates interplays of shadow and light that shift throughout the day, amplifying the sense of space and weaving an intimate connection with the surrounding nature.
This continuity extends into the choice of materials. Brick, wood, and stone cross the threshold without interruption, blending with the tactile, enveloping textures that dress the spaces. Wood becomes the primary language of the project, expressed in multiple forms: fine-slat ceilings that give rhythm to the space, open latticework screens with delicate patterns that conceal certain areas while filtering light, sculpted details that punctuate the surfaces. These subtle variations create a discreet material richness, a refinement that reveals itself gradually. Custom millwork throughout, generous volumes, and fluid circulation all reflect this pursuit of a zen sanctuary perfectly tailored to the clients' needs.
The layout reveals a diversity conceived for everyday well-being. A games room houses a billiard table and bar in relaxed elegance. A semi-open gym and recessed office spaces speak to a desire to dissolve the boundaries between rooms. Every gesture reinforces this delicate dialogue between strength and softness, between inside and outside.
The stone kitchen island anchors the central space, its delicate veining in quiet conversation with the organic textures of the wood. The bedrooms and their bathrooms, dressed in varied natural materials, offer peaceful retreats open to nature, contributing to a soothing sensory experience. A graphic staircase in black metal connects the levels with lightness, passing through the interior courtyards and offering shifting perspectives onto the gardens, transforming circulation into an experience in its own right.
The interior softens, warms, and soothes, without ever surrendering the power of the envelope that contains it. At the heart of the project lies an intentional tension: the outside calls to us. The inside holds us. It is in this balance that the essence of Maison Nature is born, a wellness sanctuary deeply rooted in its context.
