The house LA GRANDE OURSE is part of the OXYGEN ST-CÔME estate, the unique LEED-certified eco-friendly chalet estate in North America, with "ski back" access directly from the ski slopes of Mont Saint-Côme. The beautiful homes in this real estate project blend perfectly with the enchanting scenery of Saint-Côme, in the Lanaudière region.
Inspired by Scandinavian and contemporary design, LA GRANDE OURSE is one of the five models designed by Maryse Leduc Architect, a pioneer of eco-friendly architecture in Quebec.
This passive solar residence, with unparalleled eco-energy performance, is built with sustainable, local, and eco-friendly materials for a healthy and ecological living environment. Triple glazing, superior insulation without thermal bridges, metal roofing, wood siding, geothermal, high-performance equipment, and diamond-polished heated water slab; everything has been thought out in detail to contribute to comfort and well-being as well as profitability and minimal energy footprint. The compact but very functional space opens and extends into the surrounding nature. Outside, an integrated shed allows storage of skis and outdoor gear.
The house's zen and minimalist spirit leaves room for intimacy and is intended to be a warm and festive family haven, promoting relaxation, health, and well-being with its steam shower with chromotherapy, brightness, simplicity, natural materials, and enhanced comfort.
The ground floor includes the living spaces: the kitchen, dining room, and living room, opening onto an outdoor terrace, as well as a bedroom and bathroom allowing people with reduced mobility to access and live there.
The garden level includes a large family room with a table corner for board games, as well as a large double bedroom and bathroom.
Two bedrooms are located on the floor, including a master bedroom and a bathroom benefiting from the most pleasant natural lighting with views of the ski slopes.
LA GRANDE OURSE is intended to be a cocoon bathed in light, which integrates perfectly with its environment. Its timeless style, both exterior and interior, gives it a feeling of durability, longevity, and belonging, due to the local origin of the materials and craftsmen.
