This renovation project is grounded in a clear intention: to create a distinctive, expressive space that does not aim for conformity, but fully reveals the personality of its occupants.

From the very first meetings, the project draws from the clients’ rich world, shaped by a strong artistic sensibility, an instinctive relationship to contrast, and a desire to live in a space that feels alive, evolving, and deeply personal. This universe becomes both the starting point and the lens for the project, guiding a process where intention informs every decision. The result is a spatial language that feels both intuitive and structured, where personal expression is anchored in a deliberate architectural rigor.

The concept unfolds through a sensitive reading of the existing structure, where materiality, colour, and architectural composition become the tools of a cohesive and expressive design approach. The space is conceived as a unified experience, where each intervention contributes to a continuous spatial and narrative flow.

The bathroom, generous in scale and defined by a cathedral ceiling, becomes the project’s anchor. This verticality is used to structure the composition and reinforce the reading of the space. Calacatta Viola marble, treated with a mirrored effect, acts as the central gesture, bringing depth, rhythm, and intensity. Custom storage elements integrate with restraint into the existing architecture, maintaining a refined and cohesive overall expression.

Unlacquered brass fixtures introduce an evolving dimension to the project, as their natural patina enriches the space over time, embedding it within a living sense of time.

“La Funky” ultimately proposes a vision of design that is both enduring and deeply lived in, where aesthetics, function, and time align seamlessly in service of the lived experience.
