The interior wayfinding and signage system is part of this transformation, with an approach that is contemporary, understated, and respectful of the site’s historic character. It guides visitors, employees, and users through the building’s various spaces, while ensuring clear navigation, legible circulation routes, and an intuitive understanding of functions and destinations.

The project is based on a rigorous organization of information, a carefully controlled visual hierarchy, and the discreet integration of signage elements within a heritage environment of great architectural richness. Each element was designed to support orientation without overwhelming the spaces, preserving the presence of the existing materials, volumes, and architectural details.

The design of the signage units stands out through careful attention to assembly details and the quality of their integration. No visible fasteners are used, reinforcing the formal purity of the panels and their elegant presence within the space. Some units also incorporate openings within their composition, allowing the building’s materials to remain visible and making the existing architecture an integral part of the signage concept.

This dialogue between new wayfinding elements and the heritage character of the site contributes to a sensitive, functional, and durable signage system. The result is clear, cohesive, and refined, improving the user experience while enhancing the institutional and historic identity of Montréal City Hall.
