GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN 19th edition
Distinctions
Discipline : Interior Design
Categories : Residential / Residential Amenity Spaces : Silver certification
The Hémisphère residence is located in a former industrial area of Pointe-Claire that is undergoing revitalization, with new multi-family housing, as well as an industrial and commercial employment hub. The project aims to strengthen interactions with the surrounding community by opening up the parcel to the neighborhood and developing landscaped spaces over more than half of its total area.
Responsible for the architecture and interior design of the 400 units and their associated common areas, our team developed a concept based on the idea of feeling elsewhere while being at home: escaping just steps away from the metropolis, and linking the comfort of urban life with immersion in nature, by offering a range of services in direct contact with the surrounding environment.
The project stands out for the quality of its communal spaces, where physical and mental well-being is paramount. A thermal circuit, gym, and yoga room are added to extensive outdoor spaces including walking trails, community gardens, and exercise areas.
The interior design is centered around clean lines and a palette of neutral and warm tones, emphasizing brightness and timelessness. The abundance of windows allows for full enjoyment of the landscape views. The green touches within the arrangements, the integration of vegetation, and the implementation of wood strengthen the dialogue with the environment.
Hémisphère is part of a responsible development approach, aiming for the sustainability of the construction and the quality of life for residents. All lighting is LED, plumbing fixtures are low-flow, and informal meeting spaces are available for residents to encourage interaction.
