The City of Beloeil has committed to creating a new neighborhood where the community is caring, sharing is natural, and the living environment is healthy. To achieve this vision, it has partnered with Atelier Pierre Thibault, a renowned architecture firm in Quebec, as part of an ambitious residential project of 4,000 units, intended to accommodate nearly 10,000 people.
To inspire municipal officials and involved partners, architects Pierre Thibault and Jérôme Lapierre organized an exploratory trip to Copenhagen - a city globally recognized for its advancements in urban planning, sustainable mobility, and quality of life. This trip aimed to showcase, on-site, innovative practices: human-scale architecture, ecological neighborhoods, and developments focused on collective well-being.
For four days, director Bianca Bernard and director of photography Justin Bisson-Beck accompanied the delegation - composed of Mayor Nadine Viaux, municipal councilors, and key project stakeholders - to document this immersion. By bike, the emblematic mode of transportation in the Danish capital, the delegation met with several major architecture firms and visited inspiring neighborhoods.
From this experience emerged “We Are Inspired in Copenhagen,” an immersive short documentary that captures the essence of the trip and shares it with the citizens of Beloeil and the developers. Through an authentic and visual narrative, the film generates excitement, mobilization, and a desire to embrace an urban project that is human, sustainable, and inspiring.
