Folio Design was commissioned by the FCCQ (Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec) to design its new office, embodying the strong values of the association: a dynamic and unifying space.
This non-profit organization brings together all the chambers of commerce in Quebec and aims to promote businesses in each region of the province. It plays a key role in the development and deployment of the various chambers across Quebec. Although its offices are located in the greater metropolitan area, the goal was to create an environment distinct from that of the Montreal Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, while representing the strength of Quebec's business community network. Local suppliers and artists were utilized to showcase local know-how.
The existing space, now obsolete, was completely emptied to make way for a new blank canvas, intended for the FCCQ project. The construction was entirely rethought, both architecturally and mechanically.
The choice of site fits perfectly with the Federation's desired goal of accessibility and visibility. After analyzing several spaces, the choice settled on a ground-floor location at 1100 Robert-Bourassa, in Montreal, right in the heart of the business district, thus offering easy and convenient access for members. This commitment to sharing and community reflects the organization's values of openness, especially considering that the upper floors of downtown Montreal buildings are traditionally the most sought-after.
The project is located in an environment with high ceilings and large windows, offering a clear view of the bustling street. The goal is to create a flexible space, suited to both Federation employees and members.
