Between Two Waters is a high-end residential project located in the Laurentian region between the Cascades Stream and Lake Tremblant.
This landscape design project, conceived by landscape architect Josiane Léger, creates a natural extension of architecture: a harmonious dialogue between the residence's unique architecture and the site's natural context.
Located on a sloped terrain, the design follows the existing topography by creating a succession of terraces that connect the residence to various levels while highlighting the site's view and natural character. It becomes natural to stroll through the different spaces, coffee in hand on a Sunday morning.
The foundation of the landscape design is the balance between architectural lines and various organic elements. The rectilinear stepping stones of natural stone structure the pathway and guide the eye to the lower level, where a custom spa integrates gently. The large-format carved natural stones anchor the project in its mineral environment and recall the rocky landscape of the Laurentians. The raw material of the concrete retaining wall bordering the spa also highlights the natural relief of the site and allows the planting of a vine bringing movement and lightness to the mineral lines. The atmosphere is thus intimate and enveloping.
The plant palette, composed mainly of ornamental grasses, textured perennials, and native plants, has been designed for its ability to evolve with the seasons and respect the surrounding natural framework.
The whole creates a gentle transition between architecture and landscape. The upper terrace and its glass railing open perspectives and strengthen the visual connection with the garden. Below, the different levels become spaces for contemplation, relaxation, and gathering, designed to be experienced both during the day and in the evening.
The result is a timeless design where each intervention has been thought out to enhance the site, preserve its natural character, and offer a unique residential experience.
