cube BLEU
At first glance, integrating a powder room into a residence may appear as a purely functional act.
Within the singular framework of Habitat 67, however, such an intervention becomes an exercise in balance—between discretion and presence, rigor and sensibility.
Positioned at the threshold of the first module, the project occupies a site of transition. It must recede into an architecture of great formal strength while quietly asserting its own voice.
The gesture is elemental: a cube within a cube.
A contained, autonomous volume that resonates with the modular logic of its context without imitating it. From the outside, it stands as a blue monolith—silent, matte, almost reticent.
Crossing its threshold reveals another world.
The restraint of the exterior gives way to an interior of depth and nuance, where color and material unfold in a carefully composed sensory field. Contrast is not opposition here, but continuity—an inversion that gives meaning to both conditions.
Functions are distilled to their essence. Secondary elements recede, allowing clarity to emerge. Each component is reduced, precise, necessary.
Materials speak in their raw language: concrete, wired glass, ceramic, steel.
Their presence is neither disguised nor embellished, but orchestrated—each contributing to a measured equilibrium. Nothing is added; nothing is excess.
Light becomes substance. The use of a mirror extends space beyond its limits, while a softly luminous ceiling dissolves enclosure into atmosphere. Along another wall, daylight filtered enters discreetly, marking time without interruption.
Custom elements are conceived as extensions of the whole. The towel holder and toilet paper holder, designed specifically for the space, engage in dialogue and inspired by the formal language of the faucets and accessories by Arne Jacobsen, maintaining continuity in lines and tones.
The sink rests on a monolithic concrete column—anchored, quiet, essential. Its tone, developed for the project, harmonizes with its surroundings in a precise chromatic accord.
cube BLEU becomes a meditation on interior micro-architecture:
a space contained yet expansive, where every gesture—formal, material, luminous—converges into a singular, controlled intensity.
