The Blackburn Pilates studio is a project inspired by breath, movement, and bodily harmony. My Pilates center project was born from a desire: to create a cocoon dedicated to well-being, where architecture embraces the very principles of the practice.

Here, lines curve gently, volumes open lightly, and each space seems guided by a breath. The organic forms—soft, fluid, with no sharp angles—design a sensory journey, inviting relaxation and realignment.

Natural light glides over curved surfaces, like a hand accompanying a movement. The materials are chosen for their warmth, their ability to fade away to better reveal the presence of the moment. This Pilates center is not just a place of exercise: it's an architecture in motion, a suspended bubble, a continuous dialogue between body and space. A place where one comes to align, reconnect, find oneself.

We opted for limewash paint on the walls, for its aesthetic and breathable qualities. Its slightly irregular texture subtly captures the light, bringing depth and life to the surfaces. Natural and mineral, it regulates humidity and contributes to indoor air quality. Its matte, almost powdery finish enhances the feeling of softness, calmness, and serenity.

The concrete, sometimes exposed, is softened by its smooth texture and mineral hues. It serves as a neutral, stable backdrop, like the center one seeks to reach within oneself. Combined with wood and limewash, it creates a balance between strength and flexibility, between structure and breath.

The light curtains add a touch of tactile comfort, promoting silence and intimacy

A haven of peace to focus on oneself.
